We recently welcomed Claire to Broadway’s Corporate Risk team as Client Executive.
Claire arrives at Broadway after several years at Bridge Insurance Brokers, and with this, brings a unique insight for Corporate Risk and Insurance.
We sit down with Claire for 20 quick-fire questions…
Number of years in the industry and what led you to working in the insurance industry?
24 years – I moved ‘up north’ and I fell into the industry when I took up a temp role at an insurance Mutual.
What is the best thing about working in the insurance industry?
Dare I say, it’s interesting!? No two days are the same.
What attracted you to join Broadway Insurance?
The people and the freshness of the business, it feels bright and new.
What three words best describe a career in insurance?
Professional, interesting and BUSY!
Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I was lucky enough to grow up in the New Forest, Hampshire. I moved north when I met my then-husband-to-be a million years ago, initially living in Liverpool. We now live in Warrington.
What’s your hidden talent?
I can make a whole packet of biscuits disappear whilst making a cup of tea.
What’s the greatest invention of all time?
Cheese and Wine (can I have two?) I can make them disappear too.
What’s the best advice you were ever given?
Take your chances, you are a long time dead.
What’s your favourite book?
American Dirt – Jeanine Cummins.
What book are you reading right now?
The Midnight Rose – Lucinda Riley
Where’s your favourite holiday destination?
Spain – My parents lived there for a while so we have spent a lot of time there, I like the real Spain, places like Bilbao and the northern coast but also love a good Benidorm trip too
What country have you always wanted to visit?
Canada – I was born there and left as a baby so I’d like to go back
What’s your greatest fear?
Anything bad happening to anyone I love
What’s your favourite dish to cook?
Enchiladas or anything Mexican actually
What’s your favourite restaurant?
A place on the beach in Limassol, Cyprus that served a big plate of fresh shell on prawns and chips, just nice and simple. Locally, San Lorenzo in Warrington is good.
What’s your favourite film of all time?
Greatest Showman – love a sing along
What’s the most spontaneous thing you’ve ever done?
Getting a tattoo
Is there a sport you wish you could play?
Football – I was one of the first players in a women’s team locally but was never any good!
