One of Broadway Insurance Brokers’ directors is on course for her second major honour in six months.

Eleanor Moore, who is the firm’s Director of Private Clients, has been named as a finalist in the Women in Insurance awards.

Ms Moore is one of nine individuals shortlisted in the Insurance Broker of the Year category.

The awards are intended to showcase “excellence and achievement” by women working in the UK’s insurance sector.

It is the second high-profile recognition for Ms Moore within the last six months.

Earlier this year, she retained her place as one the industry’s ‘Elite Women’ for a second successive year.

Ms Moore said that she was “thrilled” to be singled out once more but emphasised that it was testament to Broadway’s progress.

“These awards are important because they demonstrate the contribution made by women right throughout the insurance industry and can hopefully inspire even more women to consider insurance as a career.

“I certainly know just how instrumental it has been for me over the years to learn from female colleagues whom I have counted as role models.

“Having said that, I can’t overlook the fact that being in the running for an award of this nature is a reflection of the really talented women and men who work at Broadway

“The better that we do as a firm, the more that those within it are recognised not just when it comes to awards but with clients too.

“The standards that we have set is also why we are approached by so many of our industry peers wanting to join us.”

Ms Moore’s comments follow the publication of the names of finalists in all of the 30 categories for the sixth annual Women in Insurance Awards.

Organisers received more than 1300 nominations, which were whittled down by a panel of judges.

The winners will be announced at an event at the Park Plaza Hotel at Westminster Bridge, in London, on the 17th of October.

Ms Moore’s inclusion on the shortlist is the latest personal triumph in another successful year.

In March, she was identified as one of the 56 individuals considered “exceptional” enough by Insurance Business magazine to make its annual list of Elite Women in the domestic industry.

It is the second year in succession that Ms Moore has been featured in the list, which also comprises some of the country’s best known insurance executives.

The classification was made up of those who, said the magazine, had made a “meaningful contribution” to the domestic insurance market over the last 12 months.

Ms Moore has played a significant role in Broadway’s continued expansion during the period.

The firm, which advises some of the country’s wealthiest individuals, entrepreneurs and household brand businesses, has seen its client roster increase by 45 per cent since the start of 2024 alone, while the number of policies which it oversees has climbed by 51 per cent in the same period.

New business now accounted for one-third of all of Broadway’s clients and a similar proportion of overall revenues.

The firm has already generated £6 million amount of Gross Written Premiums (GWPs) so far this year, having recorded £7.5 million in the whole of the previous 12 months – a figure which itself marked a trebling of policy fees.

It has claimed that the performance vindicates a decision to invest substantial sums in operations, including a 25 per cent increase in the number of brokers employed by Broadway.
