A further year of success has propelled one of the UK’s most dynamic names in insurance broking in the running for yet another award.

Broadway Insurance Brokers is one of six firms shortlisted for the Best Business Insurance Company prize at the Talk of Manchester Awards.

It is the latest recognition for the fast-growing firm and comes after 12 months in which Broadway has claimed both collective and individual titles.

In March this year, Broadway’s Director of Private Clients, Eleanor Moore, was featured among a list of 61 elite women working in the domestic insurance industry compiled by Insurance Business magazine.

Just weeks later, Broadway was hailed as the Commercial Lines Specialist Broker of the Year at the National Insurance Awards.

Chief Executive Daniel Lloyd-John said that the Manchester nomination underlined the impact which Broadway had made across the North West since its launch in 2020.

“It is a source of immense pride to everyone involved with Broadway that we are recognised both for the impact which we have been able to make in our home region and much further afield.

“That the Talk of Manchester Awards are voted for by so many of our professional peers and clients is particularly heartening.

“This is a reminder – if one was needed – of the importance of providing an excellent standard of service to our growing roster of clients, not just in the North West but wherever they are based.”

“We are up against five other very capable companies, so we have our fingers very much crossed.”

Mr Daniel Lloyd-John’s remarks follow the publication of shortlists for all 28 categories by Talk of Manchester Award organisers.

All the classifications have now been thrown open to public voting for two weeks via the competition website (www.thetalkofmanchester.co.uk), with the closing date falling on Friday, the 27th of October.

Winners will receive their awards at a glittering ceremony at the Mercure Piccadilly Hotel on the 7th of December.

Over the last 12 months, Broadway has confirmed its position as one of the leading high-net-worth insurance specialists outside of London.

The firm’s growth has enabled it to make a series of senior hires which, in turn, has spurred a rise in client numbers.

The most recent appointment saw Gary Ward take up the position as its new Director of Operations, Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance – a move which was viewed as something of a coup by Mr Lloyd-John.

Mr Lloyd-John added that the firm had seen an “evolution” in business clients, with a marked increase in the number of larger corporate and international companies to which Broadway now advises.

He outlined how many of those corporate clients are companies in a diverse range of sectors and turning over in excess of £250 million.

Such progress has resonated with industry peers as well as clients. Last autumn, Broadway was singled out for its “personal, high-touch service” as it became the only North West broker to feature in a list of the UK’s top insurance advisors compiled by Spear’s magazine.

Ms Moore’s being named as one of Insurance Business’s elite women in the UK insurance sector followed her being the first individual to serve a double term as President of the Manchester Insurance Institute since the Second World War.

Meanwhile, Broadway’s triumph at the National Insurance Awards was described as being among the honours given to those firms which had demonstrated “preeminence in their field”.
