When Broadway Insurance Brokers launched back in 2020, we did so with the determination to make a difference.
We recognised that we could improve the service provided to private clients and to businesses, in terms of supporting how they manage the variety of risks which they face.
In assembling a vastly experienced team of insurance professionals, we knew that there was a place for a boutique firm like ours to gain a better and more detailed understanding of what clients need in order to have more productive conversations with underwriters about making more tailored policies available.
That was also the case when we added healthcare to our string of services last year, conscious of the growing importance of private cover at a time when precious National Health Service resources are being squeezed tighter than ever before.
Broadway knows that insurance can be a minefield.
Clients want guidance from individuals who can comprehend exactly what they need and explain policy small print simply without skipping the important points and leaving them exposed.
They also want someone to do more than notify them when policies are up for renewal but to help them through what can be the challenging process of making a claim.
That latter fact is, I would say, critical when it comes to health cover because dealing with the administration of a claim isn’t always easy – and, in fact, can be quite daunting – for private or business clients.
We pride ourselves on our ability to support individuals and corporations big or small through the entire insurance journey, which is one reason why we’re so delighted to have been shortlisted for one of Health and Protection’s 15 advisor awards.
Broadway is one of seven brokers listed in the Best Small Health Insurance Advice category.
Our team has seen tremendous, rapid growth in demand for our services.
Private medical insurance – or ‘PMI’, for short – is, I would argue, an area in which customer service is of utmost importance.
People’s clinical circumstances are very much unique and, therefore, policies and broker support should be similarly individual.
Rather than just offering a renewal and price comparison service, we believe in giving the best possible service throughout the year.
That all starts with establishing what companies or private individuals want or need from their policies.
With that information, we are able to construct truly bespoke cover which does what it’s intended to do, no matter whether the requirement is relatively straightforward and only in the UK or more complex and international.
As reassuring as that is for private clients, it can be invaluable for businesses which are increasingly asked to provide health policies as a means of attracting and keeping staff at all levels of their organisations.
In those cases, we effectively work as an extension of in-house personnel departments, helping communicate available benefits and assist with ongoing uptake of whatever cover is put in place.
That nature of support has seen our healthcare client roster grow dramatically from scratch in a year and now boasts clients ranging from individuals, entrepreneurs and SMEs all the way to large, household brand corporations.
We also have access to the same sweep of PMI providers as our very largest global broking rivals.
The performance echoes growth across our Corporate and Private Client teams.
Furthermore, it has seen us singled out for our “personal, high-touch service” in a ranking compiled by Spear’s magazine and victorious at previous national awards ceremonies.
So, we hope that you will forgive us a little pride at finding ourselves in the running for one of the Health and Protection awards.
Even more than having the difference resulting from our hard work noticed by an influential judging panel, we would like to think that it’s good news for our clients too that others believe Broadway is a great way of making risk management less risky.
