Broadway’s Brace Of Health Insurance Nominations

Excellence Awards

Excellence Awards

Broadway Insurance Brokers’s fast-growing healthcare division has been shortlisted for a second prestigious award in the space of three months.

The firm is one of 12 finalists selected in the Small Intermediary of the Year category of COVER magazine’s Excellence Awards.

It follows the announcement of Broadway’s inclusion as one of seven brokers which are in the running for the Best Small Health Insurance Advice prize in Health & Protection’s advisor awards.

The recognition highlights the impact made by Broadway in just over a year since Emma Wood was appointed as its Director of Healthcare.

Ms Wood has described how securing a place on the shortlists also demonstrated the advantage of providing “knowledgeable yet straightforward” support to its growing roster of clients.

“The way that we approach healthcare provision is exactly the same as the Private Client and Corporate areas of the business.

“We know that insurance is vitally important but can be difficult for some people to understand.

“Our role is definitely not arranging cover at arm’s length but speaking to clients to determine exactly what is required and putting the right policies in place.

“Equally, clients both large and small want someone not only to explain what that cover entails but help with the sometimes challenging process of making a claim.

“There is a particular demand for that kind of assistance, given that more firms and individuals across the UK are now increasingly aware of the benefits of private cover at a time when there is such pressure on available National Health Service resources.

“The last year has seen us make considerable strides because the way that we work has found favour with a growing number of clients and that promises to stand us in good stead for the future.”

Organisers have described the COVER Excellence Awards as recognising the advisers and providers “raising the bar for the industry in protection and health”.

Twenty-six awards for providers and intermediaries will be contested at an awards ceremony on the seventh of November at London’s Marriott Grosvenor Square hotel.

The event is three weeks after the 30 provider and broker winners of this year’s Health & Protection Awards become known.

Being named as a finalist at both awards is further evidence of the continued strong performance by Broadway, which advises some of the country’s wealthiest individuals, entrepreneurs and household brand businesses.

Earlier this year, it revealed that an investment in people and services has delivered a surge in new business over the first half of the new financial year.

Broadway’s client roster has grown by 45 per cent since the start of 2024, while the number of policies which it oversees has climbed by 51 per cent in the same period.

New business now accounts for one-third of all its clients and a similar proportion of overall revenues.

During the first six months of this year, Broadway had generated £6 million amount of Gross Written Premiums (GWPs), having recorded £7.5 million across the whole of the previous 12 months.
