Broadway Plans For Future As “Dramatic” Growth Continues

One of the country’s most dynamic names in insurance broking is planning to develop client services after announcing further “dramatic” growth.

Broadway Insurance Brokers has reported that the value of corporate and private assets for which it arranges cover had doubled to more than £1.25 billion during only its second year in business.

Chief Executive Daniel Lloyd-John has also described how the amount of Gross Written Premiums (GWPs) generated over the course of the last 12 months had more than trebled to £4.5 million.

He said that having cemented its position as the leading risk management advisor to many of the most prominent names in the North West’s business community, Broadway was intending to make a number of senior appointments in the coming months.

“The last year has seen us continue to make progress in all key areas of our operations.

“We have seen our rosters of both private and commercial clients double, something which is not only due to the reputation which we have established but our ability to consistently do excellent work.

“That is also reflected in our relationships with other professionals based throughout the North West region and beyond who also advise high net worth clients.

“The lion’s share of our workload now comes either from their referrals or as a result of the personal endorsement of clients.

“It is something which underlines the depth of talent within our business and the standards which we have set.

“We will be adding to those capabilities in the very near future as well as refining how we deliver our services to make a real difference to the work and personal lives of our clients.”

Despite launching in the early months of the pandemic, Mr Lloyd-John outlined how the momentum established by Altrincham-based Broadway had been largely due to a focus on high net worth businessmen and women whom he believed had been overlooked in the past.

Almost half of Broadway’s clients are companies involved in a diverse range of sectors with a “significant” number turning over in excess of £250 million.

Mr Lloyd-John stressed the “significant contribution” had been made by a series of “high quality” appointments.

They have included Eleanor Moore as its Private Client Director, Martin Lilley as Director of Corporate Services and Geraint Jones as Senior Private Client Executive.

Only last month, the combination resulted in Broadway being the only North West broker to feature in a list of the UK’s top insurance advisors.

The Spear’s 500 ranking singled out Broadway’s for a “personal, high-touch service” in dealing with a number of risks, such as those associated with extreme weather and cyber attacks, which it said were “likely to become even more prominent in the future”.

Mr Lloyd-John was also elected Chairman of the Greater Manchester regional committee of the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) in May.

It means that he will serve a 12-month term representing industry colleagues at the head of one of the largest and longest-standing of the 11 such BIBA groups across the UK.

Earlier this year, Broadway was also recognised for its role in helping the North West bounce back from the pandemic, receiving the Outstanding Achievement award from the UK’s largest grouping of independent brokers, Bravo Networks.
