We recently welcomed Matt Rawsthorne to Broadway’s Private Clients team as Client Executive.
Matt arrives at Broadway after eight years at the Reich Insurance Group, and with this, brings a unique insight from both corporate and private insurance divisions.
We sit down with Matt for 20 quick-fire questions…
How do you like to start the day?
A run followed by breakfast with my son, Louie.
Where did you grow up?
Stockport
What’s the best part of your job?
Getting to know clients, building up a strong rapport so they trust me to arrange cover for their most cherished and hard-earned assets. Providing the highest levels of service to clients, knowing that most brokers are not doing it to the same standard.
What’s your greatest fear?
I’m not a big fan of heights!
Who inspires you?
Sarah and Louie – my wife and son.
What’s your favourite book?
Lots to choose from. I’ll go with The Godfather, by Mario Puzo.
What’s your favourite song of all time?
There are so many, my answer to this will change daily! I’ll have to give 2

Who’s your favourite movie star?
Stephen Graham. He’s brilliant in everything he’s in, whether it’s film or TV.
What book are you reading right now?
Manchester Unspun: Pop, Property and Power in the Original Modern City – by Andy Spinoza.
Is there a sport you wish you could play?
Boxing. I love watching it, and I admire boxers as athletes. As much as I’d like to do it, getting punched in the face isn’t for me!
Where do you go to relax?
Edgeley Park to watch the mighty Stockport County. Maybe not the most relaxing environment! But it’s a place where I can forget everything else that’s going on, and just enjoy cheering on my team.
Where’s your favourite holiday destination?
We’ve not been abroad as a family since before the pandemic. So for now I’ll have to say North Wales – around Old Colwyn/Colwyn Bay, Rhos-on-Sea. My son loves it round there, loads to do. There are some great pubs, and if you get the weather the beach at Rhos is lovely.
What’s your favourite post-work tipple?
A pint of Guinness.
What’s your favourite dish to cook?
Spaghetti Bolognese.
What’s your favourite restaurant?
Rozafa, a Greek restaurant in Stockport. There’s one in Manchester now, but the original in Stockport has loads more character and the food is amazing.
What’s the most impressive item you’ve insured?
A European Cup Winner’s Medal from the late 1970’s.
What’s the best advice you were ever given?
Do the best you can, where you are, with what you have got.
What was your first ever job?
A paper round when I was about 14.
